GameChanger Maps was born out of combining a background in wildlife/forest management and GIS mapping with an obsession for western hunting. I grew up in the Southeast and until recently, traveled across the country to hunt elk, mule deer and black bear on public lands. With only a week or two a year, I had to make it count by putting in full effort in the gym, my diet, gear, logistics, shooting and E-scouting. Having all of this dialed has led to a big part of my success over the years. What I've realized is all the preparation work is in our control. Unfortunately, we can't control the weather or where the game will be located but we can prepare for it based on awareness and education. I've leaned on my effort and physical ability to seek out places away from crowds where game would push to when pressured and it's worked in my favor most times. This led me to develop an efficient and comprehensive system that uses data analytics and mapping software to identify these areas and it's been a GameChanger! No more hours of staring at a computer screen wondering what areas to focus on, no more attempts to visualize or mark where there's a lack of roads and trails and less hunting pressure. The Game Focal Area layers do most of the E-scouting for you by identifying remote areas so you can focus on preparing your mind and body, dialing your gear and shooting. Let's face it, you can be the most prepared guy/gal on the mountain but if you're not in the game, you have no chance at filling the freezer.
